Step by Step Instructions
1 Cut the foam board into a 16” x 16” square. Mark a horizontal and vertical pencil line along the center points of both sides.
2 Coat the back of each 8” square background paper with re-positionable spray adhesive. Working from the center point of the board, lay each square into position, following the pencil guidelines. Alternate the two background color papers. Gently press each paper into place.
3 Coat the back of 4 Color 3 border strips with re-positionable spray adhesive. Working from the center point towards the board edge center each border strip over the guidelines. Gently press into position. Cut the excess strips, that extend beyond the foam board edge with an X-acto knife. This creates the center cross border.
4 Working with the remaining 8 Color 3 border strips, create the outer edge border. Apply an even coating of spray adhesive to the back of each border strip. Place one edge of the border against one edge of the center cross border. Position this border along the edge of the foam border.
When all of the outer borders are in place cut the outer borders at the corner along the diagonal to create a mitered corner. Gently press into position.
5 Working one quarter of the board at a time, apply an even coat of spray adhesive to the back of 3 Color 5 and 3 Color 6 long points. Evenly space the points along the lower edge of the quarter square, aligning the wide edge of the triangle against the border paper and alternating the colors. Alternate the colors. Gently press into position. Repeat this step for each quarter,retaining the alternating color pattern.
6 Working one quarter of the board at a time, apply an even coat of spray adhesive to the back of 3 Color 7 medium points and 3 Color 8 short points. Alternating medium points and short points, position one each over the long points. Gently press into position. Repeat the alternating pattern for each remaining quarter of the board.
7 Apply an even coat of spray adhesive to the back of the Color 4 square diamond motif. Center this motif over the center border cross and press into position.
Apply an even coating of spray adhesive to the back of the 4 Color 4 right angle triangle motifs. Center one each over the intersection points of the center cross border and outer border, with the wide edge of the triangle along the outer edge of the board. Press gently into position.
Apply an even coat of spray adhesive to the remaining 4 Color 4 right angle triangles. Position one each in the outer corners of the border with the right angle edges matching the outer edge of the board. Press gently into position.
